Architecture Approach
Leveraging Systems and Technology:
We have significant experience with a wide range of the common technologies you would expect to see in medium and large enterprises, but in addition to experience, we believe mastery can be accelerated with the right approach.
Every customer’s specific mix of technologies is different and the complexities arise from the intermix of those technologies, as well as the specific human resources and processes available to the organisation.
That is why we believe our approach makes all the difference, just ask one of our references.
Approach and Design Methodology
Assuring Outcomes
Synergic Technologies believes in setting clear objectives and making sure early on that they are worthwhile. We follow a reverse-engineering process to ensure those outcomes.
Reverse Engineering
The best way to plan for any outcome is to reverse engineer, rather than rely on “best efforts”. It is much like a child’s maze. If you start at the exit it is easy to draw a path to the beginning. Once you have a path, you can also predict how long the journey will take and have surety of success. Conversely, the traditional approach can land you in dead ends, take too long or result in an entirely different outcome. Reverse engineering any outcome comprises the following steps:
Define the Objective and Measurements
Determine the Prerequisites for Success
Find a Creative way of Delivering the Prerequisites
Qualify the Objective now you understand the Cost
Determine and Eliminate the Exceptions/Risks
Predict Results, Determine Tasks for all involved
Monitor Results and Tasks to course correct as needed
This is a cyclical process and each step is cyclical in itself. Every iteration of the process or of any one step improves the end result. Shorter cycles are generally better than long ones as they eliminate wasted activity and bring results forward.
The Fast-Cycle Approach
The first problem with any plan for change is that it could be wrong. Issues or unexpected results either indicate a need to adjust the strategy, or the application of that strategy. By predicting results, determining which tasks are required and when to deliver those, the business is able to correct its direction quickly, minimise waste, and reduce the business risk position to less than a traditional “best efforts”, or “better the devil you know rather than the devil you don’t” approach. Short planning, implementation and review cycles are best.
Systemic Constraints
The second problem with a change plan or new initiative is that people are often flooded with a myriad of seemingly unconnected requests and issues, and find it hard to free the time to implement or make progress. Our approach shifts the activity of the executive from reacting to issues and requests, to verifying the timely delivery of essential tasks and results, and managing opportunity. It provides employees with a prioritisation and dependency framework as well. A strategy focused at the business constraint will further reduce wasted activity and thereby free additional resources.
